Audience
This course is one of four that are suitable for Designated Leads and whose who have a safeguarding lead role in any organisation, eg: designed safeguarding lead in a school, safeguarding lead GP, social worker, care manager, Independent Violence Advisors, named doctor or nurse, police public protection unit, any staff undertaking adult safeguarding enquiries/assessments. The other courses are: Professional Differences; Why Supervision is an Essential Part of Safeguarding; and Managing Allegations
Aim
To enable safeguarding leads working with children and/or adults at risk to understand how their role contributes to their organisation being ‘safer’.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course the participants should be able to:
- Describe the attributes of a safer organisation
- Describe the role and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead within an organisation
- Identify safer recruitment practices
