Any professional who would benefit from an overview of local services that provide support to children, families and/or adults at risk and also professionals who are considering an Early Help Approach. It is recommended that anyone attending the ‘Understanding Thresholds’ courses for either children or adults at risk also attends this showcase day as it provides practical information regarding how to support children/families and adults at risk who do not meet thresholds for social care.
To showcase various different organisations on the island that provide support to children, families and adults at risk- highlighting the services they provide and how to refer clients/service users.
This event consists of a series of mini presentations delivered by various different organisations/services. The event also includes a wide range of poster displays and information stands from additional services. The programme for the day is currently being organised. Previous participating services include Jersey Alzheimer’s Association, Caring Cooks, Eye Can, Jersey Sport, FNHC (MESCH Programme), Jersey Youth Service, NSPCC, Barnardo’s, Mind Jersey, Les Amis, Family Mediation Service, Brighter Futures, The States of Jersey Police, The Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Service (IDVA) and the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) Service, Freedom Church, Parish Services and many more.
By the end of this day you will:
- Be aware of services relevant to both children and adults provided in Jersey that you may not have known about before
- Be able to outline the role and function of at least 6 different organisations/services
- Outline the referral process for each of the organisations/services you have learnt about
- Collate leaflets, promotional materials, hand-outs and other resources to take back to your place of work to support your learning from the day.

Fort Regent leisure centre is located in St Helier. Car parking is available on site.
There are a number of sandwich takeaways and cafes within a short walk into town or you can bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided free of charge.
