Any professional who would benefit from an overview of local services that provide support to children, families and/or adults at risk and also professionals who are considering an Early Help Approach. It is recommended that anyone attending the ‘Thresholds’ courses for adults at risk or the ‘Continuum of Need for Services for Children – Thresholds Children’ also attends this showcase day as it provides practical information regarding how to support children/families and adults at risk who do not meet thresholds for social care.
To showcase various different organisations on the island that provide support to children, families and adults at risk – highlighting the services they provide and how to refer clients/service users.
This event consists of a series of mini presentations delivered by various different organisations/services. The event also includes a wide range of poster displays and information stands from additional services.
By the end of this day you will:
- Be aware of services relevant to both children and adults provided in Jersey that you may not have known about before
- Be able to outline the role and function of at least 6 different organisations/services
- Outline the referral process for each of the organisations/services you have learnt about
- Collate leaflets, promotional materials, hand-outs and other resources to take back to your place of work to support your learning from the day.
Venue, Parking & Refreshments
St Helier Town Hall is located in the heart of St Helier, along York Street. The nearest car parks are at Patriotic Street or The Esplanade. Alternatively the Town Hall is a short walk from Liberation Station bus station.
There are a number of sandwich takeaways and cafes within a short walk or bring a packed lunch which can be eaten on the premises. Tea and coffee will be provided free of charge.
