The conference will be opened by Chief Minister Ian Gorst and Glenys Johnston, Independent Chair of the Safeguarding Partnership Board. Keynote speakers include Anne Longfield; UK Children’s Commissioner and Lisa Pascoe; Deputy Director- Social Care Policy, Ofsted. This conference is suitable for anyone working with children and young people in Jersey, either in a professional or voluntary capacity, Designated Leads within organisations and individuals who hold a strategic responsibility for Safeguarding Children and young people within their organisation. Please note there is a £65 fee to attend this event. An automatic invoice will be sent to you and your manager on receipt of a completed application.
To focus on the range of needs of looked after children in order to improve the outcomes for children in our care in Jersey. The conference will provide an overview of multi-agency support and services currently available to looked after children locally as well the opportunity to learn from common challenges and examples of best practice. The event will also share the lived experience of foster carers and looked after young people and the views of the professionals supporting them.

Refreshments will be provided during the event including tea, coffee, water and pastries during registration and morning break. A light buffet style sandwich lunch will be provided at lunchtime as well as tea and coffee during the afternoon break. The cost of refreshments is included within the ticket price.
