This course is one of four that are suitable for Designated Leads and whose who have a safeguarding lead role in any organisation, eg: designed safeguarding lead in a school, safeguarding lead GP, social worker, care manager, Independent Violence Advisors, named doctor or nurse, police public protection unit, any staff undertaking adult safeguarding enquiries/assessments. The other courses are: Designated Safeguarding Lead Role in Safer Organisations; Why Supervision is an Essential Part of Safeguarding; and Managing Allegations
To enable practitioners working with children and adults at risk to understand how professional challenge contributes to effective safeguarding.
By the end of the course the participants should be able to:
- Explain how professional challenges contribute to effective safeguarding.
- Explain the concept of ‘professional curiosity’.
- Identify how the SPB’s Resolving Professional Differences/Escalation Policy can be used to resolve professional differences in relation to the safeguarding needs of children and adults.
