Booking Agreement

We’re committed to providing first-rate, well-attended training that supports professional development across our sector. By registering for one of our courses, you are confirming your commitment to attend and follow the professional standards outlined below. This agreement is not a legal contract, but a shared understanding to help us make the best use of resources and deliver high-quality training.

1. Attendance commitment

By booking a place on one of our courses, you are committing to attend. If you are no longer able to make it, you must cancel your place in advance.

2. How to cancel your place

Cancelling is quick and simple and helps us make your place available to someone else.

You can cancel in either of the following ways:

  • Via the ‘Manage my registrations’ link (included in your confirmation and reminder emails).
  • Or by emailing us directly at [email protected].

Both options take less than a minute.

3. No-shows waste public resources

Our courses are fully funded through public money. Failing to attend without cancelling in advance:

  • Wastes trainer time and materials
  • Takes places away from others who could benefit
  • Undermines the professionalism expected of all attendees

We expect all delegates to treat these opportunities, and the public investment behind them, with respect and accountability.

4. Punctuality matters

Please arrive 5 to10 minutes early for your course. Tea and coffee are available on arrival for in-person courses delivered by the Safeguarding Partnership.

Please note that there is no onsite parking at the training venue. Delegates who choose to drive should plan their parking arrangements in advance, allow sufficient time to park and walk to the venue and ensure their parking covers the full duration of the course. Parking information for public car parks is available at gov.je.

Late arrivals are disruptive to the course, disrespectful to the trainer(s) and fellow participants, and may result in you missing key information or being refused entry.

5. Group bookings

If your organisation books multiple places on a course, we recommend nominating a point of contact to ensure your team is informed, committed, and aware of the cancellation guidelines. If you wish to book more than four delegates on any one course, please contact the training team at [email protected]

6. Line managers and colleagues booking on behalf of others

If you are booking on behalf of a colleague:

  • Please ensure they are aware that the booking has been made in their name.
  • Check they have not already completed the same training at an earlier date.
  • They are fully supported to attend the course. This includes being given time to complete any required pre-course work (such as a workbook) and ensuring the workplace is appropriately resourced during their absence, so they can attend without conflicting responsibilities.

7. Waiting lists

  • If a course is full, you may choose to join the waiting list.
  • Waiting lists apply only to that specific course date. Once the date passes, you will no longer be considered for a future course(s) and must register again.
  • Places often become available at short notice, so please monitor your inbox if you’re on a waiting list. If you are no longer able to take up a place, please remove yourself from the waiting list so it can be offered to others.

8. Acceptance of the booking agreement

At the point of booking, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and accepted this agreement. Your confirmation helps us maintain high standards and deliver training that benefits all.

If you have any questions about this agreement or need to amend a booking, please contact us at [email protected].
