Eight new pool trainers successfully completed the Train the Trainers course in September from agencies including the Youth Service, Children’s Social Care, Mind Jersey, Les Amis and Maison St Brelade. The course took place over 3 days with delegates learning about the theory of delivering training and how to get learning into practice as well as how to deliver an SPB foundation course in either safeguarding adults or children.
Pool trainers are key partners in ensuring that consistent safeguarding messages are delivered across organisations and their contribution to safeguarding in Jersey is significant. In 2021, pool trainers delivered foundation training to over 350 people working with children and adults.
