Safeguarding Partnership Jersey Publishes Annual Report 2025

Safeguarding Partnership Jersey is pleased to publish its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of significant progress in strengthening how we work together to protect children, young people and adults at risk across the Island.

As Safeguarding Partners, we hold collective accountability for the effectiveness of Jersey’s safeguarding arrangements. In 2025, the transition to a statutory system has strengthened leadership, governance and our ability to work effectively as a multi‑agency partnership.

Throughout the year, colleagues from across government, health, policing, the voluntary and the community sector have continued to work together with a shared purpose. This co-ordinated approach has been central to improving safeguarding practice, enhancing how we identify risk, share information and respond to the needs of individuals and their families.

Multi‑agency collaboration has underpinned progress through improved procedures and a sharper focus on learning from experience. At the same time, investment in learning and development has helped build confidence and capability across the workforce, ensuring professionals and volunteers are better equipped to respond to emerging risks.

Our continued work alongside programmes such as Building a Safer Community has further strengthened the connection between safeguarding and wider community safety, supporting a more preventative and intelligence‑led approach. Through joint initiatives, campaigns and events, safeguarding messages have reached thousands of Islanders, reinforcing the message that safeguarding is everyone’s business.

While this report highlights important progress, it also recognises that challenges remain. The increasing complexity of need, workforce pressures and the importance of high‑quality data and insight all require sustained focus. As Safeguarding Partners, we are committed to maintaining momentum and ensuring that our work leads to better outcomes for Islanders.

We would like to thank all those who contribute to safeguarding across Jersey. The dedication, professionalism and collaboration shown across the partnership is fundamental to protecting those at risk in our community.
